Welcome to the JCESOM LCME Information page. This page is designed to keep students, faculty, staff and administration up-to-date and informed about all LCME related issues. For more information about LCME please follow the following link: www.lcme.org.
WHAT STUDENTS, FACULTY, STAFF AND ADMINISTRATION NEED TO KNOW:
- JCESOM was placed on probation by the LCME June 15, 2011, citing nine standards in noncompliance, one standard in compliance with a need for monitoring and three standards in transition. These are listed below.
- In response, action plans were created by the JCESOM faculty and administration to address the areas of concern. The action plans were submitted and subsequently approved by the LCME June 22, 2012.
- The action plans are in the process of being carried out with the oversight of eight Standard Committees. The chairs of the Standard Committees report their findings to a Steering Committee overseen by the Dean.
- The LCME will return for a limited (focused) survey visit within 12 months. The LCME Secretariat will notify us of that visit date soon. A letter will be sent to us from LCME six months before the planned visit detailing the information that will need submitted to the survey team
- We will begin scheduling monthly mandatory faculty meetings to keep everyone up-to-date.
